Malpractice Insurance

The insurance industry provides professional liability insurance (malpractice insurance) to qualified professionals working within a recognized profession. Professional liability insurance covers you for any unintentional harm you cause your clients through the normal course of your business. Professional liability insurance does not cover the following hazards:

  • Apartment liability - covered by Renter Insurance
  • Automobile liability - covered by Automobile Liability Insurance
  • Business liability - covered by General Liability Insurance
  • Home liability - covered by Homeowner Insurance
  • Intentional harmful acts - these are not covered by liability insurance

As a professional you need both professional liability and general liability insurance to be fully covered for injuries to other people. If you want to cover your business property against loss, you will also need a business property insurance policy.

How to Qualify For Malpractice Insurance

If you call yourself a professional you can probably find an insurance company to provide you with professional liability insurance. Your insurance premium will probably cost a lot more than if you have the proper credentials. For example, the lowest premium we could find for malpractice insurance covering non-licensed, non-certified professionals was over $500 per year for these professions: bioenergetics, biofeedback, bionetics, bioresonance, detoxification, homeopathy, naturopathy, pain management, spiritual healing and stress management.

But if you are licensed as a spiritual healer by an accepted licensing board or certified in one of the above professions by an accredited certification board, you can obtain the same insurance policy and receive other benefits as a benefit of membership in the Natural Therapies Association of North America (TNTANA), the International Medical Association for Natural Therapies (IMANT), Medical Biofeedback Association and Credentialing Board (MBACB) or the International Association of Certified Detoxification Therapists (IACDT).

Either way, you get the same malpractice insurance.

The Temple of AIM Spiritual Healer Licensing Board is accredited by the Federation of Spiritual Healer Licensing Boards. As an AIM Licensed SPiritual Healer you are qualified for professional membership in any of the above three associations. That membership entitles you to several benefits including malpractice and general liability insurance as part of your professional membership dues. The annual dues for professional membership in either TNTANA or IACDT are $195.00 a year. Professional membership with insurance with MBACB (a division of IMANT) are $495.00 a year for licensed medical professionals who do not prescribe drugs.
